I hear a lot of people whining about how unstable the Raptor will be. Have you ever heard of powersliding? Yeah, my Warrior will throw me off and come rolling after me if I let it. Come on! Anyone with the ***** to ride a 660cc thumper will obviously know a little something about controlling their steering.

 

My point exactly in all my posts.An experienced rider will be able to control it but an inexperienced one wont.Why would yamaha design a quad in such a way?They must realize the potential new riders this machine will bring to the sport who have NO idea how a high powered,400+ lb machine reacts when pitched sideways.I am not bashing this machine,I just have concerns considering the tall seat height,high mounted radiator and large capacity gas tank in relation to a narrow width.Yamaha may change these dimensions,if they dont I fear new inexperienced riders may be easily hurt considering how fast this machine will be capable of going.I hope the raptor is all it is suposed to be,would like to have one if it is,but I would still like to see it a few inches wider,somewhere between a 400ex and a bomber would be about right given the chassis info we have regarding other quads and how well they track and handle.

 

Hey Guys, talk over on the Honda forum is that the wheels are reversed on the Raptor, so when you buy it you turn the wheels around and it is no longer 42" wide, it is 47" wide. All those Ponies on a 42" wide chassis did sound a little out of whack. There is no excuse for powerful quads with narrow tracks.
