Default My raptor overheating problem is now solved !

I have been having an overheating problem with my raptor after having a local shop install the craycraft 686 kit into it. guess what, it's like what you guys said, a head gasket problem. well it's not really the head gasket itself, it's that dumb A$$ who installed it. he for some unknown reasons took the O-ring from my brand new HP head gasket off and installed it. when I asked him why would you do that, he said all the gaskets he has does not come with the O-ring in it, so he thought he would take it off too. anwya, I just bought another head gasket (the stock one) and put it on and it's all better now, I have been beating the hell out of my rappy and no overheating at all.

Bigscary, you might want to replace your head gasket too.

just thought I will let you guys know.

Why didn't you make the yahoo that installed the first one but it? Teach him the lesson through his wallet.

Great to hear you got it fixed! Its sad to hear why it was bad, typical Yamaha mechs from what I have found though.

Blksnshn it is either your head gasket or radiator cap. A local auto parts store might be able to test the cap, or you could switch it out with another Raptor and see if your problem goes away. If not its the head gasket.

Just think...had it run with no o-ring the mechanic would have saved you probably 2 grams of weight...now thats a good motor builder
