Sorry to bring this question here but I can't get any responses in the Honda Forum.Maybe some of you great Yamaha folks can lend me a hand.
My little cousin has a 99 Recon and we had to replace the valveguide seals because they had started to leak.After putting it back together the valves where chattering a little louder than normal.I reset the valve lash by the book and it still is louder than it should be.I have reset them about 4 or 5 times with no luck.The engine is at TDC and everything.
I was hopeing some of you guys could tell me what I may be doing wrong?

are you sure you got the rockers back in position they came out?ie; exhaust v intake

 

Also did you take the oiler bolt out of value cover to see if its oiling ok? or you could leave cover off to see if oil is come out of hole that the little oring is around..it should stream out good..

 

I would just tighten up the lash by a a couple of thous and give it a try.
