Word is out the raptor has been tested for a while and production models have hit the conventions. Somebody please tell us how it rides.

I e-mailed the guys at atvscene.com and they e-mailed me back that they had just tested the Raptor today. They would not give me any details, they said the ride report would be on their site in a week

we had our dealer show in pa a couple weeks ago and yamaha brought down their whole line of quads. they let us ride all of them i didnt theink to much wow the blaster has a hydro rear brake this year ye haw. then they busted out the raptor man is that one sweet quad. they even let everyone ride it. its a really torquey motor andit hooks up very good. the thing just keeps pullin threw every gear. from gettin off the banshee and gettin on that i feel there is no comparison between the two. yamaha gets a big hats off from me.

Does the blaster really have hydros?!!!!!

on the page it looks just like the old cable brake. Darn, now i am going to have to wait for the 01s to come out! I was going to spend 350 out for full all around banshee brakes. that would save me almost 200 dollars.

My sister in laws brother is an R&D with yamaha. I met him for the first time the other day. I asked him about the new Raptor 660 he smiled and said he knew a little bit about it. i asked him if he ever rode one and he said oh yeah. i said what are they like and he is like amazingly fast. he said that it handles better than a 400ex. it will smoke a banshee in a drag race. it will wheelie in every gear. the motor pulls strong right off the bottom end. he said that it will churn out 48-50 h.p. stock. he said that is not final yet that they might change the silencer. they might change the suspension he said that it's too soft for aggressive riders. any other questions let me know he gave me his #
