im 15 and want to get a quad. i want a quad for trails, streets, and open feilds. IM paying attention to yamaha right now, but tell me what quad you think will suit me (it dont have to be yamaha)

two or four stroke?

 

You ever rode is really the first question? How much you want to spend? and how tall/weight are you? That would help us.

 

i dont care if its 2 or 4 stroke. i like 4s but it dont matter to me

about 5'11 to 6 ft

130 - 140 pounds

 

Your height and weight with 4 stroke would be at least a Warrior, Honda 300ex, or Polaris Trail Boss just for starters. The Blaster and a 250 honda or 250 suzuki you would probably fit but your only 15 and I imagine you will grow a lot over the next year. You will probably get really used to those and upgrade to the 300s + anyway. Just be careful and wear your helmet.

i would recomend the honda 400ex. it has awsome handling and it will pull your weight like nothing. It is also one of the most reliable quads out there. If i were you i would a a 400ex, i have one and i love it.

 

A warrior of 400ex is what I would offer to you....

 

go with the KFX400 or Z400 - same bike, green is a little more trick though. I believe both have reverse and are liquid cooled. They also have a little more power than the 400ex.

Don't get me wrong, the 400ex is an awesome quad... I own one and am very happy with it..... but as a new rider on trails, the reverse will come in handy.. if you go smaller than a 400cc quad, you may regret it after a few months of riding, just be careful and ride to your skill level or a little above, [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

I think the bike that would suit you the most would be the 400ex or the z400/kfx400
