So I am wondering if it is true that which I have been reading about, a "special edition" blue Kodiak avialable in the states for 2001? I had also heard that the speedo is now standard on all of the 2001's. Can somebody confirm either one of these rumors?

I was wondering about this myself. I was going to email or call Yamaha in hopes of getting some information, but can find no email address and the phone number is a recording. I would definitely be interested in one if they become available. There are pictures of a blue kodiak on Yamaha's Austrailian web site in case you didn't know.

Yes the 2001 Kodiak is available in Blue. If not a standard color then on the special edition one i saw. It was Blue with Grey wheels, Racks, Bumpers, and Seat. It also has Carbonfiber look alike side pannels. And if you go to the Yamaha website it says that the speedo is standord for 01. The one i saw was in portland oregon

The Blue Kodiak was not available in the states until 2001 and even then only the special edition.
And the grizz is still not available in blue here.
If you can get them there do me a favor and see what the blue plastic for a grizz goes for ?????
Maby you could give me the # to a local dealer there and i could order it ?????

There has been a blue 2000 or maybe 2001 Kodiak sitting outside the local dealer's here in N.B. Canada for a while now. I don't think it's a special edition or anything like that..... just real Puuuuurdy.

The blue Kodiak is very good looking but there is A problem with the plastic turning white, especially in colder weather when you rub up against something and the plastic bends it leaves A whitish color.Yamaha is aware of the problem but so far their only fix is to take A heat gun to the affected area.My wifes Kodiak looks alot older then it is because of this problem. The dealer took my name and problem and put it on A dated work order so if Yamaha comes out with A solution and my warranty has expired which it has they will see that I went to them when under warranty.I am not the only one with this problem from this particular dealership.
