Default Bolt on EFI for Yamahas????

Why doesn't some one come up with a bolt on EFI kit for ATVs. I hate jetting. A resonable priced EFI kit would be the ticket...no more worrying about jetting after pipe, cam, airbox or other engine mods. A few years back a company started making an add on EFI for Harleys...and now Harley is putting EFI on a lot of their bikes. Now we are starting to see EFI on some quads. Won't be too many years and the carburator will be a thing of the past, just on autos. If someone would come up with a kit to add EFI to our quads we already have it sure would cure a bunch of problems. If they can make the kit to replace the carbs on the Harleys you know they could make on for ATVs. What do you guys think?

Optimum power technologies is the only one I know of the that makes a bolt on kit for yamaha but I dont know what engine. I have heard of some people interested in converting some of the already existing atv systems to.

Yeah I would like to see someone start making one. I think it was Rev Tech that made the aftermarket kit for the H-Ds. Might have been Edelbrock and sold through Rev Tech-Custom Chrome. I'll look for it to find out for sure. It sure would be a sweet item if there was one for quads.

I wish I COULD put in an order. It sure would be nice to forget about all the B.S. changing jets and guessing. Ya know the know-how is out there and I am sure there would be a large market for it if someone would just make the kit. Keep it reasonably priced so the average atver could buy one without having sponsorship. We can hope someone reads this thread and decides it worth a try. Look at how many jet kits are sold. Every time someone sticks a pipe on their changing jets. Never worry about chancing jets again??? Priceless!

Yea EFI would be excellent. It would also help the 2-Strokes to meet the new EPA regs coming up in 06. There are a few 2-stoke jet skis out already with EFI and of course the Cannondale and Polaris ATVs with EFI. The technology is there but I don't think there is enough demand yet from the normal folks of the world

For an EFI system to adjust the fuel air ratio for altitude and atmospheric changes don't you need an O2 Cell in the header? How does the system know if you are out of tune if it doesn't have some sort of feedback?

I know the DS guys could get fuel injection by going to a BMW dealer and getting the fuel injection system off a F650 but, I think you are looking at close to $3k for the system! I'll just make the jet changes!

i got a new snowmobile for x mas. its an artic cat with a 600 efi in it. i never have to jet, it is known to not foul out plugs, gets better gas milage, and is faster than carbs. beleave it or not, i have a remote starter on it. push a button from the cabin, and she warms herself up, lol! the down fall, much harder to modd it. i dont feel the need to mod a 110 hp sled, so i'm o.k. but you raptor guys, lol. i can see someone mounting wings in the future, lol. the tech is there allready, has been for years. i guess it comes down to the wants and needs thing. if everyone is willing to buy carbs more than ever before, they why put the money into changing over to mapping and so on. if the polaris sells like mad, other 4x4 will follow. then a brand will shove one into a sand runner. just a matter of time.
