Hey Thomez, you ever ride at Silica? We used to ride the old railroad bed there from Braceville and ride both sides of it from Nelson Mosier Road. We used to ride there all the time when I lived in Braceville. I heard they starting working again on the side off of Route 82, some nice sand and "lucky stones" to ride in. As you crossed Nelson Mosier on the railroad bed heading North there's a hillclimb in the center with some nice berms and whoops sections and a trail all the way around it to the top of the cliffs. I heard a guy bought the North side with the hillclimb in it and was doing a lot of shooting on the weekends and wasn't allowing any riding there, that was a couple of years ago though. I haven't heard much about it lately.
I used to ride about everything I owned there, started going there on a Yamaha GT80, RM 125, and the last time we were there I had a 300EX. That area used to be a blast!

Hey man,
The guy with all the guns, etc ... and even a tank .... owns that ... runs his own shooting range.... and doesn't let anyone ride there anymore - last time I was there I heard gunshots and left quickly! I've heard of others being shot at!
I was at the "dunes" at Braceville recently and all is still normal there. Not a lot to do but probably the only place local for me to ride.
Where do you ride now?
I make trips to Elson St. over the summer, just south of Canton... ever been there?

Hey Zack, figured you might know the area at Silica! It used to be one of the best spots around. Figures there's no more riding there now.....sigh....
I live right off the 5/82 Bypass off North Road. We have a loop that goes behind Candlelight Apartments on North Road towards the bypass, ride the side of the bypass towards the Rt. 46 exit, back into the woods behind Lowe's, the Eastwood Mall, and Cafaro Field, then along to cross the bridge at Mosquito Creek, and back in again by PJ Snappers. The water runoff from last year has got the ditch we used to cross behind PJ Snappers washed out too deep & steep to cross, so we've just been hanging on the end towards the bypass lately. 3 of my pics were taken on the trails and 1/8 mile oval behind Candlelight Apts. We're less than 2 minutes from the trails. Makes it nice for an hour run down or to spend the day.
I still work in Braceville at the schools on Braceville Robinson right off 82 and it's only 20 minutes for me to get to work so you're only 30 minutes away from me I'd guess. We head through Windham a lot heading to the Winking Lizard in Peninsula for wings on the Harleys, first ride this year will be on Good Friday. We've had our Good Friday run the past few years.
I've never been to Elson St. but would like to check out some new areas. I have to get my trailer done first though....and then in the Spring we start camping every weekend so I usually only ride the quad through the Winter, then the bikes come out. That could change once I get the trailer down though.

Well, I can't make the Saturday ride. I have to go to camp and finish the cleanup from bringin' in the New Year. Looking forward to getting a chance to hook up with some of you for a ride later though!
