What quad for my 5'1 105lb fiance?

Get the Z400, KFX400, or Artic Cat DVX400. Great quads w/ plush suspension, reversse and tons of hop up parts if desired. Oh and watercooled unlike the others mentioned.. My personal opinion is Warriors, 300ex's and 400ex's are now obsolete w/ their dated designs and lack of watercooling...

Im sure a girl just learning to ride cares if her engine has state of the art technology. Get her a 300ex or something. Probably get something used. What if she dosent like it or loses intrest? used quads dont lose value like new ones do. Warrior would probably be more than she would want to muscle around, 400ex would probably be too scary for her because it has a really light front end/wheelies too much when you dont want it to if your a newby. If it was me though, id be getting my girl a blaster. Cheap, fast enough, very easy to kick over. Small enough for her to handle. Etc....

I would get her a 250ex....my wife rides the one we have and it fits her perfectly, it has the auto clutch and and is easy to ride, plus they lowered the price 400 for the 2004 model year, you can pick it up for under 3500.00

A Z-250 might work,,,,reverse,,,,yellow,,,,easy,,,,cheap,,,,How hard is she really going to ride?
At 5'1" and 105 lbs, a Z-250 could really work for her,,,,they are a lot of fun/....

Actually, one of the best determining factors for a girl is what they look like in comparison to the quad they are riding, so I think everyone here would be happy to see........uhhhh...... I mean analyze a picture of her to find the best quad.

250ex - no worries, shaft driven
300ex - nice as well, faster than previous
z400 perfect, fast won't have to upgrade, she may want more power down the road with the previous two

Caliraptor, My fiance rides a 03 LE Banshee! It's yellow and Black (Plus for you) It will be fun for you to ride also. (fun for you) I know it doesn't have electric start or reverse but it kicks over very easy. She is also 5' 1" and 112 lbs ( close to the same). She started out on a Warrior and out grew it very, very fast. It was a brand new 01 model if that gives you any idea. It might be a little much to begin with but you can always put a 1 tooth smaller primary sprocket on the front to make it a little more rider friendly. And when she's ready it will keep up with you and every one else if you need it to.

I would love to get her an LE Banshee, but she really wants an electric start and reverse. I guess she got used to the Raptor and wants something similar but with less power. We have gotten out of some tight places with the reverse and it helps not having to kick start it every time the damn rev limiter kills it while in reverse. She also doesnt like the 2 stroke smoke, says "it smells funny, I dont like it."

I would vote against a two stroke. Too much trouble to try to keep on the pipe for beginners, and if the powerband kicks in unexpectedly That would make me nervous. I say go with a z/kfx400, or the 300ex. The ex's are very tame, and when you wind them out they can make some fun power too with in reason of size of the motor of course. The z/kfx is a great quad as well, but larger in stature. But along with that I don't think she'll ever "need" to up grade....not that she may not *want* too though Both are great quads. I'd reccomend the 300 if shes a bit timid, and not overly aggressive. If you think shes gonna be aggressive, and throwing it around the z/kfx is gonna have more room to grow in the long run.
On a side note I also agree that used is the way to go. I would hate to shell out 6g's and then have her decide that shes not as interested in it as she thought she was..... Just playing devil's advocate.

Well if she doesnt want the quad my dad will take it, we are currently looking at a Tecate 3 for $250 running! I told him I might get the Z and if my girl didnt like it, I would just pass it on to him, that way it would still be in the family and we could all use it. I will let you guys know how all this works out!
