My cousin owned a warrior and there tirds.A couple of my friends own 400exs and there alot faster than warriors. You would have to modify it alot, because stalk there not even close.Ill line them both up with my raptor and show you'll a real machine.

It's possible if the 400ex was very poorly tuned. If the guy has screwed up jetting and the Warrior is spot on it could happen. Just having a pipe and jet kit doesnt mean it's tuned anywhere near right. I had a slower Raptor after the dynojet kit than I did tinkering with stock mikuni jets. Jetting can make a big difference. Also figure his 400 might be a tired motor in need of a rebuild, his brakes might drag, clutch shot, etc. Lots of variables there, race another 400ex and see how that goes, it might be a different experience altogether.

The reason the 400ex is better isnt really the 50cc, its the updated head. I think the 400ex has 4 valves? and the warrior only has 2. The warrior is a really old design that works great, but don't expect much from the engines. They aren't made to flow like the new ones are.

PS. I think yamaha should design a 4 valve head for the warriors, and do some minor fixes.

Hey My buddy has a warrior with a high comp wiseco piston, full yoshi pro series exaust and k&n with no lid and that thing has a lot of sack. beats me if it can beat a 400ex on a strait away but that dont mean sh*t when you get into the trails because in the woods your not doing top speed its the person with the skill and the power that will whoop a$$

Hey my Neighbor had a big bore warrior back when my ex was still stock and we raced a few times and that warrior had nothing on the ex .. the fact that my neighbor weighed in at close to 400lbs and was powered by little debbie snacks probably didn't help much ...lol

i raced a warrior with my 400ex and was able to keep up in 4th gear, once i hit 5th, i pulled away by 2 quad lengths, this was about a 1/2 mile race, we both had an e series pipe and k&n, from start to finish, he was never in front of me, i was surprised of the warrior top speed, the bottom end was weak, but once it got up the revs, i didnt go too bad, but if your wondering which is faster, 400ex will take a warrior with sam mods everytime, even a z400
