Sadly, yamahas arent like hondas, my banshees cdi just messed up and its annoying as hell, ive had more problems with yamaha than my honda, all i do on the honda is tighten the chain when it needs it and go, On my banshee, ive spent over $1000 last year fixing it, shocks, bearings, bored up, now a cdi, that will prolly be in the $200s, what a waste, but i will get a YFZ450, hooah.

WHat about the weak upper a arms? What about the carbs blowing off issue? Why did'nt Yamaha raise the advertised weight after 01 when the weight went up?

So far my 2001 Raptor has been a model of perfection. No broken trannies, no blown off carb boots, and my 12.5:1 compression 727 starts perfect on it's original 2001 one-way clutch. And yes, I'm knocking on wood as I type this.
It's even been used as a tow truck for my Dad's mini-rail(many times), my buddies mini-rail, and my buddies 440EX(twice). I have zero complaints about my Raptor. Other than the stock carbs don't like providing air/fuel for an engine making nearly double the power of a stocker. Even my KENZ 727 has been perfect since built. And it's definately not babied.
