modified Raptor vs Banshee
#1
I have a raptor with stage 1 hotcam, wiseco 11:1 piston, big gun complete race series exhaust , big gun rev limiter, k&n stage 2 power up kit.
My cousin has a 1998 banshee with fmf reeds, fmf fatty pipes, k&n air filter, 21cc domes pro design cool head, hot crank, boost bottle, and reed spacers. My raptor was stock last year and we lined them up.The banshee took me out of the hole and then i caught up, at midrange he was barely ahead of me, and at top end he barely climed away from me.Know with all the stuff in the raptor i cant wait to rerace him.I think i should know take him the houl way.Does anybody have a apinion?

You should not have a problem taking him the whole way. But if he goes to a 15 front tooth front sproket and advances his timing 4 degrees and jets up for it he will be right with you again.
Its so much easier making a Banshee run fast.

when you were stock i would of thought that you would orf took him out of the hole and he would of got you in the upper midrange and topend. which one of you can ride better? cuz i think it will some down to rider skill banshees are fast.

...............raptors are fast too. Thats a good race in my opinion. I have had the same experience going against a modded banshee, with my stock raptor. The reason you lose coming off the start with the raptor is the stupid thing wont keep the nose on the ground, and if you stay on the power you will flip over. YES, it is easier to modify a banshee, and get it running really damn fast. Its not that hard to gain a crap load of power on the 660 either. Mod for mod, I would have a hard time believing that a banshee would be getting more power gains then the raptor. Thats the big plus about having a very choked up 660CC engine.
Personally I would bet that the raptor would win anywhere, except for maybe pavement and sand. YOu line them up in gravel or dirt, the raptor should walk.
You know, you can solve the whole "raptor jumping up at you at out of the hole" and buy a yfz and win every time!
