yfz for trail riding?

If your going to be doing FAST trail riding then its well worth it. But riding it slow in the trails will beat you up after a little while. The seat isnt exactly soft, and neither is the suspension. Its a race quad, they are not suppose to be. On the other hand, my raptor is great for the trails, comfortable seat, and soft suspension, plenty of power, and reverse.
If you want to have the fricken fastest trail quad then go with the yfz, nothing is going to beat it, atleast nothing that hasnt had a buttload of stuff done to it. I love riding my yfz threw the trails at mach 3!!!

I completely agree - always wants to go fast, but what a blast. I like the fact that it is so light and stable that you can really maneuver it well, just a total workout because everything is happening so fast. On anothere note, I just rode mine in the snow yesterday for the first time - about 6 inches of snow. Really different riding, but crazy fun. I would have it rippin in 3rd gear and be barely moving, then hook some gravel under the snow and vroooommmm, had the back end pass me a couple of times, too much fun sliding and spinning.

The Raptor is the superior trail quad, with the soft seat, and reverse. The Raptor has awesome torque and power as well, so don't forget to consider it for your trail riding needs.
The YFZ is the quicker of the two bikes, but doesn't have reverse. So make sure you know that you getting a race quad, while the Raptor is the better trail quad.
Like all bikes, they both wake up when you put a good pipe on them.

I love my YFZ for fast trail riding. One of my friends has a 400EX witch is now for sale after riding The YFZ.
I rode 120 miles 1 day and i had to stand the last 10 miles i just could not sit any longer. The 400ex rider also was standing for the same reason. My Banshee has a mutch softer seat. As for hammering down the trails the YFZ works Verrrry Good. The faster you go the better it works. It will smoke a EX in fast trail riding.

In the woods how does the YFZ450 compare to the banshee? I use to own a Banshee and it rode ok in the woods (never owned another quad so couldn't compare it to anything else). Now I'm in the market for a new quad and I'm not sure if I should get the 450 or the Raptor. I ride a lot of tight trails and fire roads but occasionaly hit the MX track once a month.

The YFZ handles better then the banshee. My banshee is faster in a strate line but you through in a few turnes and the YFZ is faster. I do like the power of the YFZ it just keeps on pulling. As for the banshee i like the rush of that power band too.
If i had to choose 1 i would have the YFZ. It is more fun all around. The YFZ is easyer to ride fast.It Jumpes better, turnes better
sokes up big hits better. The only thing i would change is the seat it is way to hard. The raptor or the banshee have a softer seat.
