I also have a Big Bear and I agree, Top end sucks! I'm getting ready to put in a good midrange cam and a higher compression piston, valve guides and seats. I'll let you know. Ya gotta remember what you bought. A single cylinder geared for pulling, hauling and climbing. It's not a raptor, but then again I wouldn't try pulling an Elk, deer or poodle out of the bottom of a draw on a Raptor!

I also have a big bear.. I would say get the gas/air mixture straightened out first to have them already done. The BIG GUN exhuast is a monster and i heard it gives mid and top so that may help with that get a jet kit and a airfilter. Once you get all that done ytou will feel a diffrence in your machine. A cam would also do you some good

Ok, I put in a wiseco 1st over piston for the BB 350/Warrior 350. Basically .002 larger than the stock 400 piston. Had the cylinder bored to the tightest specs that came with the piston. Have to break in real gently or I could have a problem. Having found nothing at the time I bought the piston, I called wiseco directly and got a tech on the phone. Helped alot! I used a cometic gasket set again for the BB/Warrior 350 after calling them first. I used a webcam cam. they have a whole sh*!load of different cams available. I chose one to give me a better mid to high range torque band. If you call Highlifter or go to their website and send an email, they can probably give you prices for a few different packages. I didn't trust them when I first spoke to their sales rep cause they were like "Well, we think this may work......we really don't know cause not a lot of folks have asked for that stuff for the BB 400........." End result is they were pretty much on the money, but weren't too sure about it! I called all the mfr's and the stuff from highlifter is what I ended up with except for the piston. They use Pro one (Pro Comp?) pistons and they are alot bigger than the one Wiseco recommended. So now if I burn a hole in the wiseco, I already have a new one on hand! I only rode 10 miles this weekend and after the above changes, here's what I got. BB 400 low end grunty torque is almost gone. Kind of a dog off the line. Hit about 1800 rpm and above, and hold on! did not increase top end, but you get there quicker! Should be a real improvement for the type of mountain riding we do here in Idaho! Hope this helps and good luck!

P.S. I kept the stock pipe because I hunt on my BB. Aftermarket pipe would make a big difference with the above changes, but I don't want the noise!
