Default yz125 v.s. a shee

I think I know what I'm talking about. The newer yz125's are faster than the older ones. They got faster in 2003 I think. Someone help me out here.

125s top out in the upper 60s lower 70s, they wont beat a banshee in the long run but they can accelerate like a ****. Even my friend who owns a totally decked out RM125 said it wont take my shee. my other friend said that a 250, which he owns a CR250, said it wont take a piped banshee.

Roosthrower, im not sure enough about that to back you up, i havent heard anything about it but that doesnt mean its not true.

They did something to the newer YZ125's. The YZ's that I ride with, one is a '95 with a Procircuit plat. pipe and the other is a stock '03. The '95 is a 6-speed and the '03 is a 5 speed. The '03 is slightly faster than the '95

a cr or any 125 most likely can beat a shee, look at the weight comparisons...the newer yz125's are fast cause the new model apparently has much better low-end -- missing from the years before, i thought i heard my friend say that they added some more stock mods on the engine..

I know they can beat a quad in a small straight but i dont think they can hold their own on a quad in top end, that RM has very short, quick gears and rips right through all of them, but it doesnt have much topend.

thanks for your replys.
I think this bike is in the mid 90's. It's my neighboor so I know him kinda well. he said that It's exremely fast, he was riding one day and the throttle stuck and before he could react it litterally threw him off and broke him up pretty bad. I've never had any axperience but all it needs is a new plug and brakes and he's selling me it for 500$. so ell, It really would be a sweet deal becase I was planning on getting it and fixing it up.
500 for a yz125 that runs? not bad. new top end in it to

my point is, I'm not talking about top speed what I'm asking it will i be able to accelerate with my friends stock shee. AFter i got it I was thinking on getting a real nice port and polish, along with a decked head and a pipe.
Fast?

Fast?[/q

Acceleration will be very close and the 125 should take it due to weight!!! Ripping out of a corner on an MX track there will be no contest!! If you work the 125 with some mods it'll rip any stock quad!!!
