have an o3 raptor, have installed a white bros pipe, um aluminun open airbox and dynojet kit, was wondering if a higher conpression piston would show any noticeable difference in low and midrange power to make it worth doing, if so is there any carb. adjustments to be made, as you can tell i am new at this, any help would be much appreciated, thank you

69- I would drop in a 11-1 or 12-1 JE piston or a Ross piston. Might as well drop in a stage 1 cam while you are at it. It will be a whole new quad. Those 3 items (piston, cam and HP headgasket) will set you back about 335 dollars.

He's right, a new quad. Tons more low end with a higher compression piston.

Are there any downsides to the higher comp piston like harder on engine or, excessive wear? What gas do you run w/ each level of compression. For example: do you run 93 octane w/ 11:1 and, 100 octane w/ 12:1 ect?

What is the stock piston Compression?

just had 11:1, stage one cam and full white bros. exhaust done. whole diffrent ride really strong down low. don't know about top end still breaking in. seems to run better on 94 than 100.

one other thing, i think i've read that the the Stage 1 is for lowend and, Stage 2 cam is more for high end and, that the 11:1 piston brings up lowend as well. So, instead of a Stage 1 cam and, high comp piston both bringing up the lowend, would it be better to go w/ a Stage 2 and, a 11:1 piston and, bring up all around performance?

You'll need different valve springs for the stage 2 cam.

Stage 1 cam and high compression piston = great bang for the buck!

Just decide now if that is all you are ever going to want to do. If you think you will want more power just do it all at once or you will just end up buying the same things over and over again.

I would totaly bypass the stage one cam........I gained Lots of top end after I switched to the stage two cam........and I still have more low end power than I need...........
trust me........if you think there is any way that you will want to upgrade again.....go ahead and do it now........it is much more cost effective to do it once rather than 2 or 3 times like I did.......
