Gettin the shee tomorrow!
#11
300racer, i wrote this post last night (friday) so i meant today.
fastbansheekid, i didnt even know my dealership had any red and blacks left, i had at one point decided on a blue '04 but when i got to the dealership i looked around and they had the '03. also, i couldnt get it for the last 2 weeks or so because we had a lot of snow and our truck couldnt get up our driveway, so we couldnt have made it up with the trailer and the banshee wouldnt make it up either.
anyway, i washed the blaster today and got it loaded up, headed out and looked around in the dealership for a bit, then did the paperwork, dropped off the blaster and loaded up the shee. (its a really good feeling when the dealer hands you the key instead of your dad )
a few minor pain-in-the-@$$ things, but nothing major. first off, they put so little gas in the bike it ran out while i was trying to drive up our trailer. plus it was really hard to load up because they really screwed up the clutch adjustment, it wouldnt engage until the lever was almost all the way out and then just a few mm of travel before it was fully engaged. then, the parking brake was WAY too stiff, you had to use both hands to pull in the lever. also, the shifter was set up too high, and the rear brake too soft so it had a lot of travel before it would actually grab. but, now i have everything adjusted right and its WAY better.
after i got everything set up right, i took a little ride up and down my street. and all i can say is... well i cant really say anything, they dont have a word for it yet. anyway, i cant wait til i can rev to the top, because right now ive just cruised around in low r's and theres the point when you give it just a little more gas and you feel it just barely getting to the bottom end of the powerband. and it just starts that feeling like youre in a rocket, the whole bike feels like its gonna go out from under you. and thats the bottom end! so i know its gonna fly.
also, i must say i love the sound, even at idle its awesome, it sounds almost like a harley, and then when it starts to rev up its like my blaster and KDX200 (were). i was actually suprised at how quiet it is though, not that thats a bad thing, i dont need any tickets for violating noise regulations. i suppose thats probably just because i havent gone to the high rpms yet though. anyway, pix comin soon (after i wash it, the damn dealer had it sittin outside for 2 weeks) and of course, more details of how much i love it! c ya in a few weeks, its gonna take a while for me to pry myself offa that thing once i get to really use it!
thx everybody!
