Just like he said they are Time Bombs... I bought a Yamaha banshee, 96 model, rode it around sounded really good, then a mth or so later it blew up at little sahara.... You can never tell when they will go.. The only thing is if you could open them up before you buy, which is impossiable almost...

The best thing to do if you purchase a Banshee is to just spend the $$ on the top end RIGHT AWAY just for piece of mind that you know what you got then. Better to replace if it's worn than to wait untill a ring breaks or something and lunch the bottom end with it and end up spending big $$ to get it fixed.... Spend the what $200, on honing the cylinders, new pistons and rings right away and ride happy on a fresh top end.

classic. absolutely classic. i read your post about nearly wrecking your friends blaster because you were being kinda stupid, and now you think you want a banshee. its sad really. i suppose this is why i havent met too many stupid ppl on quads though, they all think they need banshees and kill themselves. theres no way i could possibly reccommend a banshee for you. if you want my opinion.... id say youre more... 250ex material. take my advise kid, if you really want to get a quad, it can be done, but a person with your kind of lack for safety needs a little work. first of all, take the advise of most ppl on this forum. respect your bike. dont misuse it or underestimate its power to harm yourself or others. and you cant expect to be able to handle a bike of that size safely with your obvious lack of experience. truly, i think you should get a blaster. a stock or maybe piped blaster. the blaster is a great bike, its got a lot of power for its size and you will definately be able to have fun on it, and its far safer than a banshee. but it will also get you used to the two stroke powerband and the physics of riding a sport quad. then from there you can modify it or move up to a larger quad.

if they say it's got a new top end run fast get away find one thats never been built over and take it home and put a new piston and rings in it you will have a winner....remember run if they had motor work done trust no one take no modified banshees you will have problems alot of times...
