Banshee Accessory Questions
#1
I just got my shee and I was wondering about a few things to put on it. I dont feel the need for any motor work yet so im just lookin for a few other things.
1. hand guards. this time of year its pretty cold out and i loved the hand guards on my kawi (see my pics). Id like some for my shee that are kinda like that, or if you have any suggestions for a specific guard you like.
2. nerf bars. im not sure whether its a good idea to get nerf bars for dunes, i would assume so since there can be a lot of jumping. I would like to get some like the AC pro-peg nerfs, the ones with the heel guard, but i dont know if theyre good or if there are some nerfs that are better.
3. lighting. i want to get some extra lighting, the stock lights just arent nearly enough. ive been looking at the trailtech lights, the ones with a bracket that replaces the top handlebar clamps. i was wondering how they wire into the banshee's... wiring. do i need a battery or do i need to modify the stock lighting in some way? and i also like the idea of...
4. the trailtech endurance computer. i think it looks like a great product but i dont know a whole lot about it. how does it calculate your speed (and how accurately)? also, is it resistant to the elements? is it battery powered or does it have to into the wiring as well?
5. paddle tires. whats a good tire for a shee? i was thinking about skat-trak haulers but i dont know whether theres something better suited. the kenda gecko's i had on my blaster were horrible power-robbers, i did better with stock tires. would the banshee have any (noticable) problems pushing the haulers? also, how many paddles would you recommend for a stock or slightly modded shee?
6. an aftermarket air filter. there was a dual stage filter on a shop-modded banshee at the dealership last time i was there, pro-something, i thought it looked like a good idea but i wasnt sure if theres anything better. i will have to worry about dirt and dust because i do ride trails.
7. (later on) toomey pipes. i have heard a lot of good things about toomey pipes. but i wasnt sure whether i should go with TR-5 or TR-6s. Supposedly the TR-6's are better for unmodded shees but i dont know if they are compatible with the hush kit (which i would have to have since i ride in oregon, where we have very strict noise laws).
thanks everybody!

Yamaha actually sells handguards that looks pretty close to the ones on ur old KDX....you can look them up at www.chaparralmotorsports.com
as for the filter...it was mostly likely Pro-Flow.....probably dual K&Ns with an outerwear is what I've seen for banshee's.

i think it was pro-flow or maybe pro-design but i remember it was a dual stage foam filter.
i really like the look of those nerfs, but would they be a good idea for dunes? also, is there a big difference between the stock pegs and the ones on the nerfs? (and if there is a difference, is it good?)

Roll Design/IMS footpegs w/ kick-ups
AC nerf bars
Knobbers bar ends
TrailTech HID lights and endurance computer
"power-up" kit; air filter, outerware, jet kit, billet base plate
Toomeys a good pipe, but look at CPI pipes too.
cant help on the tires.
