Default Requesting Feedback: New forum Categories?

Hey DBeck, I didnt read all the replys to this, but I got a few ideas of my own. I think if you add more categories that are suited to NON atv subjects, you will get more people on the site that aren't here for the ATV's, and god knows we have enough of those people already. If anything, you should create more categories, based off of each quad, in subcategory thats based off each manufacturer. Like for example, having a raptor and yzf450/banshee/warrior and blasters/and utility forum in the Yamaha section, and the same for other popular manufacturers and their top selling quads . This would help people get a more direct answer to a question, or more info on the specific quad thats being asked about. Also, have a maintence section in each of these manufacturer based categories.

And about a video section. A video category should be made with videos that are based from other peoples servers, and another video section that paying members can use to upload their videos.

I also really like the idea of the "where we ride" forum based on what you said because it would easily bring the community closer.

This is an ATV forum right? I would think some dirtbike or snowmobile discussion fits in there somewhere, along with your trailer and hauler talk.

Regional catagories would be a plus because when people throw out opinions you have to weed out too many that do not apply to your terrain, altitude, etc.

It would be nice to segregate the novice questions like "how to wheelie", "how to chain oil", "what toilet paper to use", etc. , but keep in mind that if you have a forum specifically for those questions, who will be there to answer them. I know I won't. I personally don't care to read through all of the bs in a post to get to the meat, but you need a broad spectrum of opinion to benefit everyone.

How about spell check? There are times that I can't even understand the post because of poor spelling and or grammar.

Would it be a contradiction of my earlier statement about "broad spectrum" to ask for an older rider catagory so that I don't have to read bad questions, bad advise or bad grammar?

Damn, I'm hard to please.

One other thought. How about a trail riding forum? Specific to riding, tech, gps, maps, etc for trails.

alright alot of you guys already know about this but, there is 1 big stolen quad report place. stolenatv. But for adding more sections to this site, all of the above sections would be worth putting on, except the car one (already thousands). Oh and a freestyle section, PLEASE.

Please what ever you do dont stretch things to thin .
I think you should stay ATV only maybe a link to a Motorcyle forum from here
I would be careful about breaking up forums and getting to specific .
I try and help out other riders of differnt types of machine when I'm in a area but I usually only go to Yamaha Or Where to ride . If you made a RAPTOR only section that would be great but the other machines might suffer from loosing the the expertise of some of the raptor riders and or visa versa IE: Banshee On and on
I have seen and been member to many other forums and I really Like the way this one flows .

If you want a place to share knowledge and gain friends and resources which would work better?
One large room full of thousands of riders . or 1000 rooms with one rider in each .
I like the large room . Less doors to open . Sometimes you have to wade through a lot of BS but at least you get to here just about ever angle

A regional were to ride catagory would be good.

No cars, but yes to truck and trailers.

How about a READ ONLY tips and tricks section of some of the most asked questions and best tips. Broken down into categories: Genral could include things that relate to all, like reading a plug and tuning a carb, bomb, honda, etc.. could be more specific.

This is what we need. Adding the mx/trailer ect may bring people but will it be ATV people? Alot of users do only go to Yamaha, Honda, ect. so by separating the forums and adding the extra "doors" to open, it may backfire and have less appeal to people. You said on the home page that the numbers are growing and there are so many users now. That tells me that you have something working aready. So how many accessories do you need to add before your unit it tacky? GO PANTHERS!

If you get a drag forum, i should moderate that...

Only thing other then the previous idea's mentioned is to make the classifieds open to everybody, not just supporting members. Its a lot more beneficial to the members to buy used products without having to pay just to view the stuff. It would help the site a lot
