the external bolt that holds the clutch shaft from sliding out, on the right side crank case cover, where the clutch cble goes, the threads are striped, i know the bolt is a 6mm, does anyone know where i can get a 7mm just like the stock with the dog leg on the end, so i can just re thread it????

thanks......

You can use a helicoil to fix that problem. I have fixed a few like that and it is stronger than the original threads. GTW, how are the crowds at the dune lately? We have been tryingg to put together a trip there in the next week or two.

Why wouldn't you want to just replace it with an original yammy part? I have heard that helicoil is not actually that strong and personally have had bad experiences with it.

Because he probably does not desire down time and forking over cash for a new side cover.

The part that would need to be replaced retails for $178 and to repair it cost less than $10

yep, it's the money thing, was hoping to fix for less than $10, will try the helicoil, shoot, will try just about anything before forking over the $178 for a new cover, thanks if your asking about the Kermit dunes, they are GREAT, we have recieved light rain and that makes the dunes (to me anyway) a very nice ride, not crowded at all the last few weekends, very enjoyable, this weekend should be app. 60 degrees, if not asking about the Kermit dunes, oh well, now you know where I'll be, if i get my ride fixed, - ha
