33 or 35? Banshee experts help!!
A guy who has been building 2-stroke engines since the 70's told me today that with my mods(check sig) I need to go with a 33mm keihin 2 into 1 instead of a 35. I am looking to get the most low end power I can out of the setup and he said 33 is the way to go. What do you guys think? If anybody is looking for a 35mm carb let me know, or if you have a 33 your looking to get rid of.

Might wanna lose the T-5s. A single 33 will definetly give you more torque though. Bye bye top end. Ive beel playing with another idea for MAX torque. Throw it at your engine builder guy. An RD350 has smaller more compact reed blocks which in my opinion would increase intake velocity and torque. With a little porting though RD owners manage to get more than 70hp out of their motors with these reed block in them so they cant limit flow that much. Here is a comparison though. Im not saying it would help or anything but see what your builder thinks. I did the opposite though and stuck Banshee reeds in my RD for more flow and top end.

I don't know if this will help or not, but a set of DUAL 33mm PWKs worked great on my last Banshee. It had great power all the way through. I've not ridden another Banshee like it. It was a big bore (420 kit) and had Trinity's Stage III port work and Carbon Tech reeds on stock cages. I guess it was the comination of everything, but it was a great race engine and it was fast too.
I think the 33 would work great for you, don't know how much of an advantage if any over the 35 though.

The 33 and 35's are PWK's which are said to be more of a top end carb. The best bet for you will be the 34PJ's and run the dual setup (I am not that big of a fan of single carb). I am in the process of trying 4 different pipe sets on a stock and ported motor and I will post which set works best for which rpm range. It will just be a seat-of-the-pants comparison but that is really all you need for general riding. The pipes that will be compared are FMF fatties, FMF SST's, Pro-circuits, and T-5's. Just have to wait until it warms up.
Also, what is your compression? If you can drop down 19cc domes and still stay around 150psi, you can still run 93 octane fuel. More compression helps low end and anything under about 165psi shouldn't hurt top end.
