The handeling and performance is unreal. As far as the 2 stroke stuff, a Banshee is fun, but give me a 250R any day and I'll race any Banshee!!!!
theyre all great bikes okay? the thing to look at is which one will be more fun for what you want to do. the guy says he wants an auto. he also says (or implies) that he wants to be faster than his friend. the raptor has better handling than a kfx im sorry to tell you, because the kfx' suspension is too soft and its too top heavy to handle really well. im sure its a good bike, i hear a lot of people that love em, but for me, theres no feeling like a manual transmission. the auto makes me feel lazy (no offense).

if you want a great all around bike go with the raptor, if you want mind-bending accel, especially with mods, get a banshee, and if you want to have a good wide open cruiser, get the kfx.

this isnt a resurrection, this is just a return from a short vacation. A resurrection is when someone searches for something and reads a post he wants to reply to. The problem is that the thread is from over a year ago. there is a thread going in the utility forum that was started a year ago by someone who hasnt been on the forums since last march.

JohnnySplat: "too top heavy" is just incorrect. V-twin and rear tank put the weight lower than a normal design. I call BS on you and ask you to back up the top heavy claim with some facts. The thing is tall, so it makes it feel top heavy, but it is something that you get used to and the GNCC results I think address the question of whether or not the V doesn't have good handling or has too soft a suspension. I do love the raptor for its great mid range power and light weight, and it is a good trail quad compared to the 450s or 2 strokes, but the V is a great trail ride as well and it owns the raptor for off-the-line acceleration (stock for stock) and low end torque (no contest).

Having spent some time on all 3 big bores, here are some of my observations:

V-Force - fastest off the line, most low end torque, slowest top speed
Raptor - narrowest power band, best mid-range, most upgrades
DS-650 - highest top speed, great power at high RPMs, excellent stock equipment (who needs reverse?), holeshot challenged

Any of the big bores (DS-650, Raptor, V-Force) are all fun rides and none of them deserve to be slammed.

If I had the money, a v force would probably be in my stable too. I will end up with a p700 or a grizz though, have to have 4x4 on at least one of them...

The raptor powerband is somewhat narrow, but if you look at just about any dyno chart, a piped raptor has a very broad and steady power curve. The raptor changes more with a pipe than any other 4 stroke as far as the feeling you get riding it, IMO.

I agree you can pipe some voodoo out of that Raptor... what that CT pipe and kit does to the Raptor is just sick.

I have never ridden the V-force, so i cant say from personal experience, so i may be wrong. If im wrong, then thank you for pointing that out, i dont want give out incorrect information. The reason i said it is top heavy is that it is obviously a taller bike than the others which usually translates into a top-heavy feel. I dont quite understand what you mean when you say its tall so it FEELS top heavy. It either is tall and isnt because the tank and engine positioning or its tall and it is. As for the suspension, i have heard many of my friends who have ridden them say that they bottom easily. Im sure that it is tuneable and the suspension problem (if there is any) can be easily fixed. For comparison, i wouldnt want one in trails myself, only because it is a large bike and wouldnt be very good in tight trails. I personally enjoy having a manual transmission, but for someone who isnt comfortable with one, or just doesnt like them, the V-force would be a good bike. I actually told my dad he might want to consider getting one recently, but he sad he wanted a manual tranny and now he has a raptor. I love my banshee, theres no bike like it for top end and the acceleration is unbelieveable. I dont mean to make the V-force sound bad, i wouldnt mind one myself, and for certain circumstances, i would choose one over any other bike.
