The handeling and performance is unreal. As far as the 2 stroke stuff, a Banshee is fun, but give me a 250R any day and I'll race any Banshee!!!!

if you want a great all around bike go with the raptor, if you want mind-bending accel, especially with mods, get a banshee, and if you want to have a good wide open cruiser, get the kfx.

JohnnySplat: "too top heavy" is just incorrect. V-twin and rear tank put the weight lower than a normal design. I call BS on you and ask you to back up the top heavy claim with some facts. The thing is tall, so it makes it feel top heavy, but it is something that you get used to and the GNCC results I think address the question of whether or not the V doesn't have good handling or has too soft a suspension. I do love the raptor for its great mid range power and light weight, and it is a good trail quad compared to the 450s or 2 strokes, but the V is a great trail ride as well and it owns the raptor for off-the-line acceleration (stock for stock) and low end torque (no contest).
Having spent some time on all 3 big bores, here are some of my observations:
V-Force - fastest off the line, most low end torque, slowest top speed
Raptor - narrowest power band, best mid-range, most upgrades
DS-650 - highest top speed, great power at high RPMs, excellent stock equipment (who needs reverse?), holeshot challenged
Any of the big bores (DS-650, Raptor, V-Force) are all fun rides and none of them deserve to be slammed.

If I had the money, a v force would probably be in my stable too. I will end up with a p700 or a grizz though, have to have 4x4 on at least one of them...
The raptor powerband is somewhat narrow, but if you look at just about any dyno chart, a piped raptor has a very broad and steady power curve. The raptor changes more with a pipe than any other 4 stroke as far as the feeling you get riding it, IMO.
