New Kodiac 450 squeaky brakes. Any Help
#1
Just got a Kodiac 450 and only have 2.2hrs on it and the brakes are already squeaking. Frt and Rear. I tried the pressure wash deal with no luck. Any one have any suggestions? And while your at it, does anyone know where I can get factory Yamaha Stickers to fix/replace damaged ones. ..... YAM/Bruin (hit em with the pressure washer to many times)
Thx

My brakes squeak here and there on my '04 Kodiak 450 as well. It's just something I don't worry about too much. Does it suck, yeah, but it's not the end of the world. Note: They squeak more when they're dirty.

My breaks squeak on my 04' 450 as well and I have been running it for 6 months and the dealer said not to worry about it. I have not noticed any performace loss in the breaking so I am assuming it is just some dirt but who knows. When I get some free time I am going to pull the tires off and use some break cleaner and see if that helps.

Disc brakes tend to do that, stuff gets into the pad and scrapes on the rotor causing the squeaking noise. Ride the brake alittle while riding and it will wear the foreign particles off and the squeaking should stop. Yes it does happen quite frequntly if you ride in sandy or silty areas. As for the stickers, just call the dealership and ask them if they have any, expect to pay thru the nose as any time you need factory stuff it costs alot.
