Default Would a warrior work for me?

I weigh about 230 and was wondering if a warrior would work well with me? Would there be a lack in top speed or acceleration?

I am the same sized guy as you are and in 97 bought a warrior. The warrior is underpowered for hill climbing in any loose terrain for you and the top end speed is lacking compared to any 400cc class machine out there. The Z400 is much more powerful, has a superior suspension and has the ergonomics for a guy your size. Lets face it, the warrior is in serious need of a makeover. Get the Z400 (or an Arctic Cat or Kawasaki clone) or step up to the larger cc quads like the Raptor, YZF450, or predator. You will be disapointed getting the warrior unless you want to cruise trails. JMO and personal experience.

^^^well that was rude....

Anyhow, my friend has a new warrior that I got to test drive. For someone my size (~170) ithad "ok" power....but then again I didn't get to ride it long, so I might change that opinion if I get a chance to ride it more. One thing I didn't like was the front suspention...didn't like the feel of it. If you can spring for the extra bucks I would say you should get a 400. Good luck and remember...as long as your riding any quad is good

If you can afford a z or kfz, go for it instead....you will probably be happy with the warrior...but once you ride something else...you will think its a POS that's way to slow.....but if it's all you can afford....you will be happy...its a front-end heavy quad meaning as long as you have the power and the surface is right you will virtually make it up any hill at all.

i 'am 230 and love my warrior. i ride trails mostly, but ride them fast. the warrior is near bulletproof. i love how easy it climbs. it really depends on what type of riding you plan to do, if you like to drag race, get used to eatin dirt, but in the trails i am lead man often and most of my friends have faster quads then i have. you can only go so fast in the woods. yea on break of the trees in the woods my friends will gain on me or pass me, but as soon as it starts to get tight again, ill be back in front. my only problem that came along was my rear bearing carrier, ordering a rad mfrad mfg bearing carrier today. iam going with the tappered. good luck with whatever you decide.
