Hey i guys i need some advice on what to do. I have a 2003 blaster that i ride alot, i only do trail riding and alot of fast field riding! Im not sure if i want to put money into making it faster and handle better or go and buy a used Raptor. Is it worth buying a used Raptor or are the usually really beaten. How much do u think i can pick up an 02 Raptor for? Thanx!!!

i was in the exact same situation as you, about july. I had a 2000 blaster and I traded it for an 02' raptor. Best decision ever, its the just the price difference that sucks, especially when i need to buy a truck now. I picked my 02' up for either 4400 or 5400, i'm having a mental block. But definitely shoot for the raptor or even a 400ex if cash is an issue.

 

Yes it is worth ever penny I picked up my 02 Raptor LE for $4750 and it has been worth ever penny

 

yeah, now i remember i picked mine up 4400 in awesome condition and some minor bolt-ons (F&R grab bars, radiator guard)

 

I'm probably gonna be picking up an 01 Raptor with an 02 tranny for 2500 bucks.....a deal huh?

After riding my friends Raptor, It is so much better than my warrior...You won't be dissapointed buying one..

 

Are you sure theres nothing wrong with that Raptor that you are going to pick up cause that is awful cheap

 

The only problem he said is there is a slight tap to the motor he thinks its the piston rings cuz he had it all checked out and the valves adjust and everything but hes ridden it for 3months since he rebuilt the motor and nothing has gone wrong.

 

Hey do you think a dealer would sell an 02 for $4,400 cuz i would have to trade in my blaster unless i could sell it outright but i doupt i could cuz no one would buy it for $2500 or up even with all the other parts i put on. I would have to get at least $2700 cuz if i didnt i would be loosen to much money ya no what i mean! And do the 01 Raptors have a lot of transmission problems? cuz i heard that they did. And are they fixable? thanx oh and how much do u think i would get for my blaster its a 2003 RED/BLACK has paul turner pipe/fat boy silencer,uni filter,boyeseen reeds, reed spacer, oil injection block off kit, and 4 R/A shredders on douglas aluminam rims. I'm sure the dealer would probably sell it for $4,400 because it is only booked at around $4,600. In regards to your transmition question. Everyone that i have talked to about the raptors all have the clutch problems. I am considering buying an 04 soon and i was doing some investigations and everyone says they have had or still have some kind of problems with the clutch. This might be something you would consider looking into if you don't like replacing clutches. Let me know what you other guys think that already have a raptor.
