If YOU want to raise your kids with that crap that is your right to do so and you should be able to do so.
If I don't want to raise my kids like that crap it is my right also.
It's when the media (TV, radio, print,etc.) shove this stuff in my face is when I have a problem.
They took away my freedom of choice once again. Hopefully when you get a little older and have a couple of knee biters you will see the point I was trying to make. If you don't, it's your choice....

No, i totally understand that. But what everybody else is missing is that its done, and MTV/CBS had no idea of the event that was going to happen. They didnt take your freedom of choice away, it was the performers.

Let me ask you a hypothetical question, and be honest now. If MTV said "we are going to expose on of Janet Jackson's breasts during the half time show"...what would you do? Would you send your kid in his room and stay glued to the television? How many more people do you feel would have watched that game if they announced that?

 

Honestly? Yes, I can give you that answer.
I would have turned it off. To answer your other question: IF I WAS ALLOWED ( which it wouldn't have been, it's against the law) yes, many others would have viewed it without question. Everyone but my family watched that freek Michael Jackson get arrested also.

 

I think people are missing a key point. Although they're was partial nudity shown on TV, as there has been many times before, i.e. NYPD Blue, (bare ***, ****) etc., what about what it was during, only one of the most violent games on TV. So which is worse, a 1-2 second partial boob exposure during a voilent sport where players hit, beat, kick, and tackle each other, and sometimes fight over stupid stuff, for the game itself, along with all the cop shows with violence, shooting, drug dealing and so forth. I have 2 kids and 2 on the way, and I would pick having my kids pick partial nudity than violence anyday. Big deal on the boob, what about Jennifer Lopez and Lil' Kim and those awards shows? BIG DEAL!!

 

At that point you have control over the situation. Whether one sends junior too the next room or even watches the event is his / her perogative then.

 

It's not a big deal at all. If you don't want to see it- don't watch it. The point being you KNOW what it contains before watching.
Guys don't get me wrong. I've never been a pretty little child in my life but I'm trying to be the best role model NOW for my kids so they won't be punks.
My wife and I work with troubled kids weekly and I must tell you the problems we all have in the world is coming from the kids that don't have parents or the ones that don't give a damn how they are raised. To the best of our ability, mine hopefully won't be one of those
