Just curious to know if anyone has information about who is working on hi-performance pipes for the Raptor, and when they will be available. I understand Yamaha has their own pipe available, but don't know what gains in hp they predict. Anybody have info on this? What about other hop-up mods in the works...shocks, a-arms, k&n's, etc?

If it is anything like the pipe that comes on their 426 bike, they have the horespower title in hand. There are some pipes that are claimed to smooth out the power or make it more rideable, but the Yamaha pipe is still one of, if not the most powerfull.

I'll just be glad when aug/sept/oct gets here and I get to take mine home. I'll worry about extra HP when the new wears off.

Exactly no aftermarket pipe makes as much horsepower as the original on the 426. But the procircuit and the yoshimura make like .1 less on a dyno and increase bottom end throught over rev substantually.

That's funny...I just read a shootout in Dirt Bike magazine on YZ426F pipes, and virtualy all the aftermarket pipes produced more usable horsepower, especially in the low to mid. Not bad considering the YZ's pipe is more performance based the the Raptors will undoubtedly be. That's why I am anxious to make the switch when Yoshimura or someone reputable comes out with something. Look at how well the DS650 responds to pipe mods...I will wager that the 660cc 5-valve Yamaha motor will be even more impressive. I am used to riding a 70hp banshee and want my Raptor to be as ballsy as it can be with relatively minor mods, that's all. It will be interesting to see what is released...just wonder how soon it will be. What really interests me are a set of Custom Axis shocks for this beast! Can't wait!

well the reason I chose procircuit is becuase the t-4 is light than the standard slip-on yoshimura has and it costs less, the yoshi looks nice but I like my pro circuit better.plus you can tune the t-4 for more low mid and hi end with adjustable tips and it also has an available quiet core insert. yoshi also has quiet core but no other tips.

I would have to say that ALBA would be one of the first aftermarket pipes for the Raptor.

I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure ALBA sells aftermarket pipes and accessories, but they don't make them. You are going to be dissappointed when you try to get 70 horsies out of that Raptor motor. I'm sure it can be done, but you will need some serious $$$$$$$$$.

The only pipes alba calls there own are junk, they are the alloy series which whitebrothers copied off the tin can supertrapps which have been proved to not flow better than and oval silencer or round such as the r series, procircuit yoshimura, and a few others the supertrapp style mufflers never score as well as others, stick you hand over your pipe where just little air can escape and see if you gain performance. If quiet performance is all you would \gain everyone would use a disc system. Granted it is a quieter system than an open type but with quiet core inserts installed on yoshi's and r-series, and others they still generate more power.

I just read a guys's review on some page about the Streetbike the engine came from and it was making about 43hp at the rear wheels and he got almost 60hp out of it, I can't remmeber what all he had done but it wasn't anything real major, the motor was still reliable and stuff.
