my question is this do u think that the 10,990 dollars they are asking for there 64h.p, banshee is worth it. or should i just by one locally and have someone modify it for me. I have never done serious modifications b4 and was curious as to wchich way would be less expensive thanx in advance for your help.

well, if you bought new, or a used banshee, and put say, 5K into it, you would be a lot happier with what you bought because its the way you want it.
and if you buy an older one thats all hopped up already, you can just put more high performance parts on it, and still have enough for a few trips to the dunes.

What ever happened to " Why buy a stock quad, when you can buy a modified one for the same price?" I know alba's saying is something like that.. I agree, I would buy a used one and modify the crap out of it.. you can find a good 96 or in my case, a 97 for 3,000... and if you have that much money, sink 7,000 in it and you will have one HeLL of a four wheeler!!

The cool thing about the Alba Banshee is that it is brand new never been ridden. Was that the 370 long rod motor that you were looking at? They have a 400 kit now. If you could find a Banshee for cheaper (brand new) then get it and send the motor off to get a long rod kit and porting. Have you ever ridden a Banshee before? Starting to ride a monster like that takes riding skill.

i ride a 89 lt500r now and it is just getting older and so i thought it was about time to start searching again however i don't want to replace with something slower. I mean i don't have it all modded out so it wouldn't take a 3 second screamer only good for dunes to make me happy but a stock machine really doesn't appeal. the 370 was the kit i was looking at i was unaware of a larger kit. do u know what the cost is of the larger kit. i can't find a dealer around here who really wants to deal so that is why i was thinking just screw it and i will just order one from alba but i just wanted to confirm this was a good deal from those who have modified a banshee before and what they ended up investing if it was close to what they are charging.

If I were you I'd just get a reg banshee and see if I could get a good deal or get a Alba Banshee without the 370 or 400 kit. To get the 400 kit added on it's like 2000 bucks. Once you get used to the handling and need more power I'll let you know of a great place to get motor work done. It's about 1000 bucks for the work this guy will do and it's not a chop shop job. Remember the power of the Lt500 is mostly low to mid range and the Banshee is mostly a topend screamer.
