350 Bruin
#1
I'm thinking about buying a Bruin, I have a Big Bear 350, that I use in our nursery for spraying and mowing and it does fine. I dont care about speed or excessive power but i like the automatic and the In-Out 4-wheel drive for the money. My question is, the cooling ability of the fan vs. the water cool.

Not considering the cooling factor. the Bruin is a pretty cool quad. it has a proven motor in a chassis and body similar to the Grizzly. i dont think yamaha would have produced the Bruin if it was going to overheat all the time...? but than again i could be mistaken. iether way its a good bang for the buck. as long you dont have it going at top speed all the time....than you shouldnt have a cooling problem. although i still think yama should have added liguid cooling anyways. but ive never heard of Big-bears or the other Kodiacs overheating before iether.

Hi, I ride double on my bruin going up and down mountains roads here in the Ozark Mtns. I have had no trouble with it heating up on me. I like the idea of oil cooled engine. Change the oil and the cooling, transmission and engine are all taken care of. Check the oil and everything is checked. I had oil cooling on a polaris trailboss 325 for 2 years and never had any trouble with over heating. So that wasn't a factor when I bought my bruin. I drive meduim to fast. By fast I don't mean wide open all of the time. If you like the bruin, go for it. lol

I bought a Bruin in Oct and am very happy with it. The only time I've had the oil-cooler fan kick on was when it sat idling for awhile or extended slow "crawling" situations. It seems if you are moving much at all there's enough airflow past the engine to keep it cool. "But", I haven't ridden it in over 80* weather yet either, so we'll see.
