Default Warrior skid's, please help?

I virtually know nothing about skidplates for atv's, but am pretty sure I need them. I do alot of trail riding and am constantly going over logs, rocks, and whatever else is out there. I found a good kit on ebay and they seem pretty legit. North Coast ATV this particular kit has everything except the rear. On PRM's site I found what I think I want is the rear cause it covers the shock also, which I have not been able to find anywhere else. Do you guys think its necessary to get a type like this PRM Guess I'm just not sure what protection I need. I would buy everything from PRM, but it seems kinda pricy for everything. Any input on this would be appreciated..Thanks

The most important design feature of a rear swing arm skid plate is the material thickness. You are wasting your money if you buy anthing less than a .250 inch thick rear swing arm skid plate. If you dont, you will trash a $115 or so rotor. Alot of the skid plates are .190 inch, that extra 1/16 inch really helps. Armadillo makes a .250 inch thick plate that works great. You can pick it up at rockymountainatv.com. Good luck

PRM has one I see that is .250 thick also. What about the other skids, is it necessary to have these that thick. They have belly skids that are listed as .125 thick, would that be enough since they don't hit nearly as much as the rear would? Thanks for the help!

I would only go that thick on the rear swing arm skid plate. That is the lowest point on your ride and takes the biggest hits. The other skid plates can be thinner like you said without compromising protection of your frame or a-arms.

if your looking at a plate so that your machine slides over logs and such think about a plastic one ive used one on my warrior for years and i just can't get hung up , slides right over stuff . but if you deal with big old rocks go with the heavy duty aluminum one
