50/50 race-pump mixe fuel in 686?
#1
I have been running 50/50 (93 and 110) in my 12/1 686. I figure this averages out to about 101 octane. The guys at je pistons say about 100 octance is right for this compression. I know to much octance can hurt power and too little can damage the motor. Je says its a bad idea to mix different fuels but i cant find anything closer then 110. I found a low lead 100 av-gas but im afraid to run it. Any thoughts would be helpfull.

I use 76 100 octane from the pump. Somtimes I'll mix it 50/50 with 91 octane to get me around 95-96 octane. Mines only 11:1 though with a mild cam. It runs it's best when I mix. It's a tad slower feeling when on 100 strait.

You can order some fuel from VP. I think it either comes in a 5 gallon bucket or a 55 gallon drum. Try their web site or maybe your local yellow pages for a supplier.VP racing fuel
