Default new to board got some banshee questions please help?

hello,
i am new to the board but been riding since i was about 8yrs old.
I came across this banshee for 2000 it is a 1999 excellent condition but has been modified.
it has a proline head, fmf pipe and silencer, boost bottle, reeds, rejetted carbs and dual k&n's with the socks.
it runs great but just wanted to get some more info before i make the purchase like what to look for and problems that arise.
thanks
chris

an nice 99 shee that's modded and only for 2 grand. that's a deal if nothings really wrong.
- check for obvious fluid leaks around the crank case and such, maybe places where there is oild residue and there's a lot of grime collected.
-be sure to check the engine compression. Do a compression check on that baby. if she's holding anyting less than 100psi u need to rebuild her. But even if it does need a rebuild, that's a nice banshee. If the power band doesn't smack you in the face, i'd check the engine compression pretty quick.
- when U test drive it, burn the clutch a lil and check for clutch slippage.
-listen for any uusual noises
-put the rear end up on blocks, then grab both tires and try to move the axle side to side, if there's some play you'll need new bearings back there. once u get it, take the cases off and look at condition of the shift forks and gears, even the clutch maybe.

another thing chugger, I live not exactly in richmond but very nearby, In charles city county. where exactly do you live. I was thinking we could go riding or something

I'm not a big fan of UNI's. Park your bike once and have a mouse eat through that foam in a place you can't see without taking the filter off and you ride and suck dirt in there, then you will start using K&N's. I know this from experience. K&N's are great anyway. I run them on EVERYTHING I own. This includes my race bike motors that run around dusty dirt tracks.

The best filter setup I have found when running stock carbs is the kit from Pro-flo. Not the plate and filter that Pro-design makes that goes in the airbox, but the filter kit from pro-flo.com. Check it out here:

In my opinion, they are both great filters. Uni tends to filter out a little cleaner than k and n. You can get away with a uni filter and no lid, but you definately would want to put an outerwear on that k&n.
Chugger I have two names under which can talk "lilbbfromcc" and "lilbbfromcc51988"
Get my name and we'll talk. Do you have anywhere to ride at all or were you being slightly sarcastic. I mean, do you have like 2 acres or 100. I got a decent amount of land to ride, and maybe when it warms up good we'll see.

the k&n's have the socks on them.
i actually live in an apartment so i have no place to ride. My friend has alot of land about 30mins from me i think he told me like 300 acres.
there are a few places i have been told but i have yet to further investigate.
