TRX or YFZ?
Definetly HONDA,this quad is awsome, after riding both I think honda is more controlable, rear suspension on the y is very stiff, the power band is very touchy, taking in consideration that both bikes are very similar the trx is more rider friendly, and like all hondas you will not be dissapointed on reliability, look at the 250r 16 years old and still rocking.

what u wanna do w it.If it was me Id take the YFZ simple reason that its got the magic E button an better suspension to beat on it vs Honda is more confortable.I have a Kawasaki Mojave an Im sick of that thing flaming out an kicking the crap outta of it.If I was racing this bike Id have to trade it for a blaster or something w the e button.I like how Dirtwheels says kick start is sooooooo ancient but when the Honda comes out it oohs an ahhs,I think them people dont know if there coming or going to put it nicely an non vulgarly

first off the blaster is kick start too and second the kick start doesnt bother me...the thing about electric start is if that ever goes its going to cost alot to replace

also the yfz is made to add a kick start, remove the electirc and parking brake...to save weight..., there's a template to cut the fender and a place for the kick...so its race right outta the box basically...

don;t know much about the trx, except for the fact that the front piggybacks are faced rearward to avoid possible roost dadmge unlice the y....

i say screw em both and get a 1998 300ex ....j/k

i would get the y...

but this commin from someone who just gor a 660r...

oh, and don't get the YFZ simply because its the hottest bike out there for RACING.... think practicality... cause thats a lot of $$ to shell out for something that you aren;t gonna truly utilize.... get a raptor

if you don't plan on racing, and you do a lot of tight trail riding and such...won't you miss reverse?

that was the final decision for me...but if i was racing it would be yamaha all the way...

A buddy of mine told me he witnessed a YFZ turn a sub 5 second run through 300. Strutted, wheelie bar and no doubt motor mods....but thats smokin' for a YFZ!

was just saying if U stall a kickstart bike in a race in it fails to start u are getting lapped.I wish Kawie woulda put an e start on the mO an it woulda outsold the honda 300.The bike Im eying in a few more years is the gas gas 300,dont know if it will sonn be around by then. Also buy the bike for what You need it for not because every Tom Dick an Harry has 1 on the block.

ok......i had a honda for a few months its sucked it is slow. Hondas file plugs and are just not reliable a raptor can beat that p o s trx.. and that kick starts that is very stupid they add an extra 5 pounds and after a while u have to kick them alot to get them started....If i was you i would get the raptor and get a fat boy 4 pipe that would be perfect for the trails and the track...=)

How does a kick start ADD weight?

where do you get your information from or are you just talking off the top of your head, or out of some other orifus (sp)

by eliminate the electirc start you lose the weight of the starter and in most cases the attery..which def, out weighs a kick..plus a kick doesn't *** any weight besdies the LIGHTWEIGHT lever, the gearing is there on the yfz...

think about it....

besides, kick only becomes unreliable if you don;t maintain your bike well, and fouling a plug is al but non-exhistant on today's fourstrokes... and if you do foul one its because your carb is messed up not your kick starter...

where do you get this from

just maintain your bike and you won't have any problems...

IF YOU WANT THE BEST, GET THE YAMAHA, if you want a average quad then the honda fits the bill. After riding the 450 honda i do not see how anyone can claim it is even as good as the yamaha. The guys praising the honda and trying to talk people into buying it are doing the ATV riders a disservice. I know i would be pissed if i bought the honda because of the claims some make on here and then saw the yamaha in action.

My friend RODSQUAD on here has both of them. He has had the honda for a few weeks now. It has one hour on it. He raced the yamaha last week at Bastrop instead of the honda. The week before was the same. He told me yesterday that he doubts he runs the honda. Rod is a raptor basher even though he has had 3 or 4 of them. He sold his blue yamaha 450 to get the honda. Well he bought a new yamaha 450.

I think I would go with the YFZ. Electric Start is way nice. Not to mention I think it looks way cooler. It's a personal preference though. The only Thing I didn't like about the YFZ is the pegs seem like they are up so high or maybe the seat is just too low. Not to mention the hard seat. I haven't ridden a TRX yet so I don't have much to compare it to but a 400ex, Raptor, and a Preditor.
