the cheapest power is -----> k&n air filter----> pipe---->and jet it out.. It all depends on how you ride it, where, and how often... especially how advanced you are----> are you going to race in motocross and jump and fly 6 bazillion feet.. or are you going to drag race it at a zillion mph or ride it stock with your friends at the same speed?

That depends on what your definition of "major" is.

New air filter - K&N prodesign kit - 150 bucks or so. new airbox wouldnt hurt either, 200
New full pipe - Curtis Sparks X-6 or CT, about 5-600 bucks
New cam - Hot cam, web cam, or megacycle/sparks cam, depending on your application - 150-300 dollars
New piston - 10.75:1 all the way up to 14:1 or maybe even more. About 200 with a gasket kit, more for the 13 and 14 ratios and larger bores.
Then the Big stuff
Port work
Big bore
turbo
engine swaps...

So is it safe to assume that Curtis Sparks is about the best around for getting the most power out of a raptor?

For the most part, yes. The main drawback is that the turnaround time in a sparks raptor is in the 6 month to year and a half range. Cray craft builds some very good bikes that you can get back in less than 2 months, sometimes a lot less. That and the sparks kit costs a little more, mod for mod, than the craycraft.
