just cause its a camaro dont mean its fast. the v6 camaro only has 200hp and they are slow as $hit. and manuals arnt faster its just a myth. and any one who wants to argue it can but there is virtually no difference between a manual and a auto speed wise. so dude i dotn think your full of $hitt but unless your racing a z28 or a ss and depending on what year it is i wouldnt get to excited. now if you wanna race yoru quad vs my 87 grand national ill take yoru quad from you. good luck ne ways man.

manuals allow you to run at higher rpms which = higher horsepower= faster then an automatic. So unless you have lots of money into your automatic transmission a manual car will always be faster.

edit: just noticed that you run a grandnational. Ive lost to a few of those in my days. They are turbo charged right?

yes its turbo charged and intercooled. my sig says what ive done to it. and has for the manual vs auto debate it depends on the driver. i have a friend who runs in the 11's with his 89 mustang. it has 550hp supercharge blah blah blah. but its a manual and they way he has the car set up he said if it was a auto he would run faster times. it all depends on setup and the driver. manuals do allow you to rev higher but thats not always good and an auto when u are at WOT will shift at that precise time. but o well.

ahh yeah, the Grand National. Sweet sweet car. Fastest car in America in their day(even faster than the Corvette). Wish I had one. I saw one last year in mint condition with only 2500 original miles for $8K. It disappeared in 3 days.

i've got a friend with a WS6 with the stock 6 speed tranmission. his best 60' is....bad. He said if he had an automatic with a good torque converter and a good shift kit he could easily knock half a second off his 1/4 mile time.
