I was wondering if it is possible to put a YZ 250 dirtbike engine in a blaster frame? What would you need to do and what would be a list of parts. And a price estamation for all of it done not including labor.
Thanks

Ive seen it done and unless you want to vibrate right off the bike dont do it lol. Hella fast but the vibration makes for a lot of discomfort. Plus youll need a swing arm so long to keep the power on the ground that the only thing your bike will be good for is going in a straight line.

What do you mean is it gonna be to powerful for the size? What if i got a good set of front and rear suspension, and extended a arms and swingarm?......and would the engine even fit in the frame including the radiator. i can buy a 2001 yz 250 engine for 200 bucks with everything carberauter, cooling system, etc. If i did would it actually be worth the effort to race it?

I have a 97 blaster with an 89 YZ 250 motor in it.The vibration is not as bad as you would think.I do have a Laeger swing arm and the quad is 3 inches wider than stock. Durable axle that fits a Suzuki and 1 1/2 inch spacers up front. It is fun and definately fast..Good luck

You will need to weld some coustom motor mounts to the frame, and the motor needs to be inline with the rear axle. If you know someone good with metal, it's very easy. but the new swingarm will run you at least 300$ minimum. You can get extenders for about 100 thought, but they don't offer the length. I would go atleast 4inches longer or it's going to be comin up all the time and it really wont be to fun.

The only motor mount you will have to modify is the upper mount. This is my experience with the motor I used. I had to cut it and widen it. You will also have to get a radiator and mount it.
