Default calling on people with stage II hotcams

when you set your valve clearance at .006 intake and .008 exhaust do you get any valves ticking noise? I set mine at that and I got ticking noise, I went tighter and the noise stopped (but it was too tight I think, more like .003 intake and .005 exhaust) should I set it .006 and .008 and live with the noise, or try tighter till that noise stop?

thanks

Ahmed

I wouldn't adjust them any tighter than 6 and 8. Are you sure your at the top of the comp. stroke and not exhaust when you adjusted them. I don't think they're noisey at that setting.

I thought the specs were something like 8 thousandths on the intake and 10 on the exhaust for both the stage 1 and 2 hotcam.

I ran .006" and .008" on my stage 2. It did tick slightly, I knew it was time to adjust the intakes when the ticking stopped. I wouldn't go any tighter than .006" intake on a cold engine, they get tighter as the engine gets hot.
