Oil filter location on 94 Kodiak??
#1
I just bought this machine and gave it a good cleaning, and fresh fluids. I drained the oil, but where is the filter located?
What type of tranny fluid should be used? It's a 400 5spd.
Thanks
Doug

Follow the oil lines oming from the oil cooler. They both run into a small housing held onto the engine with 3 allen head bolts.
Remove these bolts and the cover and the oil filter will be revealed.
The housing uses an o-ring seal so don't worry about needing a gasket.
As for transmission oil,......this engine uses the same oil bath for both the transmission and the engine. Oil capacity is right at 2 1/2 Qts.
Use a 10W40 or 20W50 motorcycle oil......Honda GN4, Yamalube, Castrol ATV Oil, etc.
