Default CDI for YFZ450

anyone using one, does it make much differance.. i know the rev limiters already high stock.. does these help?

im looking at pipes and such and can get the pipe, filer, jets from alba for $450 and a CDI for $200... or could go with a more expensive pipe from like Sparks or yosh.. for $650.(no money left for CDI). wich would be better spent? thanks guys

I wouldn't waste the $ on a CDI.

The ESR pipe is suppose to be a good one for the YFZ. I would spend a little more on a good pipe rather than a CDI.

Get a good full exhaust.$$$ You will be glad you did. You can get a cdi later to play with.

I wouldn't consider any of those cheap cdi's.

i have heard that one of thoes cheap as you call it cdi units are just as good as the more expensive ones. this was stated by someone who had purchased both. he said to save your money and go with the less expensive one like on ebay procom is the name. but hey if your "loaded" like the outher guys who would not consider a cheap one spend the dough.

Check the ones on eBay and ask them to send you a dyno sheet, they had one on the raptor.

I have one and they are alright. It helps a lot in a drag race or going into a corner and not needing to bang an upshift just before braking. I no longer bump the limiter ever. That used to be a problem if I make the smallest mistake or missed a gear. Now I have a little room for overrev or I can miss a shift and not be left banging the limiter and losing momentum. It pulls hard all the way to the new limiter if you need to.

The timing curve is the same. I have a pdf from procomm that shows the dynos if anyone want it. I might post it in web space when I have time.
