I was wondering if it is not such a good idea to cut the fenders for woods racing? I like the looks of cut fenders but was wondering if they really deflect that much dirt. A friend of mine has them cut and says they are fine, another said he cut his and put new ones back on. What is your opinion or experiences?

 

I know people who cut theirs down because they ride dunes a lot, then they only last 30 minutes when it gets muddy. So, either get a spare set so you have full fenders and cuts or live with the consequences. Also, supposedly, someone makes a fender that has removable fenders. May want to look around for those. I don't have any info on them though.

u can just take ur front fenders off and experiment u dont have to cut them off if u dont like it put them back on but if u do put them back on and cut them isnt that easier than wasting ur money to buy an extra set

 

Although the Raptor front fenders are not great, and far from the full coverage you would get on a 4x4, they are much better than running with cut fenders when it gets wet. Just think how wet and muddy your boots and shins get when you hit a puddle or a mud hole, now imagine all that spraying up into your face. Not fun. JMO. Good luck.

cut fenders and wet mud dont mix,just gets in your face as fast as the tire can spin.

I have cut fenders on my banshee and will agree with everyone that says they get soaked!

Mud and water everywhere....You wouldnt think that the stock fenders help that much would you? But they do.

with that said....I thought I would go back to the stock fenders..so I did. I have extended arms on my banshee as well...so going back to the stock fenders left me just as wet. So I chose to keep the cut fenders. IMO they look better...less flapping in the wind..etc.

If your still running stock arms...I would say to keep the stock fenders...unless you don't mind a bit of mud in your face.

 

I cut my fenders on my warrior...Yeah, I get alot more mud and water in my face, but if I go threw big puddles, put my knees on the seat....dont get wet at all....I cut them because it looks alot better...but, if I were always mud riding, I would never cut them...

 

has anyone have pictures of the cut fenders on a raptor? is ther a cut for the rear fenders?

 

That friend of mine that I told you has cut fenders on his bike. Front and rear he got it from so cal fab I think. The fenders in the front look nice he has the so cal fab scoops to go with it looks really sharp.
