Default Stripped screw, how do I get it out?

I am having carb problems, on my 04 Raptor, so I was going to take the float bowls off and see if there was something clogged in there. Well, I try to take the first screw out and I strip it. Oh, this ticked me off big time. I got the other three loose, but this one just gets worse the more I look at it. I can't get pliers or vice-grips around it, and I am afraid to hit it too hard with the impact driver. How do I get this thing out? Also, how do I completely remove the carbs? Right now I just have them out of the boots, but I don't know how to remove the cables from them, so I am just tryin to do the best I can with the throttle and choke cable still attached. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I wanna get this thing goin by next weekend, cuz I need to get some sand in my hair before I go crazy.

You should be able to get it out with vise-grips. I never take the carbs out, just flip them over.

I can't get vise-grips on it, unless I find a really small pair. It's the screw on the right carb on the inside top corner. That's looking at it when it's flipped over. This is really getting me down, it's been one thing after another lately.

Try finding a Torx bit that'll fit in there...that should get a bite...

That sucks man. I have had that problem with the carb on mine and my uncle's Arctic Cats. The one that you can't reach is always the one that sticks for some reason. I used the smallest pair of needle nose vice grips I could find. Just was real careful and locked it down tight. Worked like a charm. In a worse case scenario, you might be able to get it out with a bit extractor, but I don't know, because that screw is really small. We got that trick to work once with a screw on our honda that holds the brake fluid cap on, but it wasn't easy.

Use a dremel on it, put a straight cut on it and that you can use a regular screw driver on it.

Drill the head off of it, find a bit thats just a little bigger than the thread size. then take the bowl off, once the pressure is off the screw it will unthread easily.

Just leave the cables on and flip the whole thing over. fill the boots and intake with paper towels to keep the filings out.

try a impact screw driver thats what i used on my raptor carb bolts . i also have the striped screw bits from sears you might want to take a look at them. they have like teeth that cuts into the head of the screw. when i got mine out .i went to a hardware store and got alen head bolts to go in place of the stock bolts

i always use a dremel to make a slit in it for a flat head screw driver

I had the same problem, took me 2 days to get the little SOB off. I used some needle nose vice grips and it worked like a charm. Next time you take off these screws, grab them by the head with some vice grips and just loosen them up a bit, then use the screw driver.
