How many of us have had to re-man the starter in these rubies? This is something that has probably alreardy been addressed, but I like to find out if this something I will have to deal with regularly.

3 of my buddies have 01 raptors and all the starters went at about 20 hrs, dealer would not cover it but it is a common prob with them

Do you mean 1 way starters or the actual starter?

Not really remanufacture the starter, but I have had to have it replaced. After about 15 hours the starter would turn however it was not turning over the bike. It would just whine and grind. I took the raptor in, and the starter was replaced under warranty.

I think you're referring to the starter one way. The OEM setup sucks, buy the LA design and forget about it.

Cold in Logan too.... I can't believe Yamaha has still not redesigned the starter 1 way for the Raptor. The 1 way failing is bad enough......but tiny metal particles for the 1 way spring floating around inside the engine is unacceptable.
