I was thinking about maybe getting the 240 kit on my blaster. Is it worth the $900 and is it reliable. I have heard that boring causes overheating problems but i dont know if thats true. and would it really help a lot. Does anybody that has one know about how much horsepower it adds and what all do i have to send them. I know that head and cylinder but what else.

We just built one for guy the last week, and have another one in the shop waiting for the 35mm TMX carb to be put on. With the big bore, porting, head work and carb., you will notice a BIG difference. It actually gives the blaster a punch. The power actually hits instead of just blah, blah, blah, ya know what I mean. As far reliability, yes they are, just like anything, keep the airfilter clean, run good oil, and keep the piston fresh. (don't let it get slopped out to the point that the skirt breaks. Good luck.

Thats what happened to me last year, i let the compression get so low that the skirt of the piston broke off and i cracked a some casing in the motor, the guy charged me $500 to fix it and put a wiseco piston. Where is your shop at?

The 240 kit is awesome. I'm not too sure how much horsepower it cranks out, but you can sure tell a big difference. The bottom end and midrange are very powerful. Even really steep hills don't bog the motor down. No need to downshift. Top end is pritty quick too. You will have no problem keeping up with 400EX's, and banshees won't leave you a mile down the road anymore.
As for overheating. I have never had any problems. And sometimes we ride hard all day, with little breaks and still no problems. I have been considering the Pro-Design cool head, but I'm not sure if I want to put more $$$ in my blaster. Its already worth about 3 blasters.

If its speed your looking for you might want to get that used banshee you mentioned. Though the 240 kit is great and adds a lot, a modified banshee is still a lot faster.

Im not really looking for speed, im looking for a ot of midrange and some top end but not much. I ride mx and i cant get the speed to clear some of the jumps. Can your blaster keep up with your banshee on an mx track. Im probably not going to get a banshee any time soon so i just want to make my blaster faster. The track i ride at has a 2 stroke class and a 4 stroke class and the 2 stroke class is banshees and 250rs. I can keep up with some of the guys that arent good riders but when we get on the straights they leave me behind.

We are in central Wisconsin and do some national work, but mostly local. We are backed up pretty good just on local stuff. We have the owner and another full time guy that mostly builds all the motors. I work only 3 days a week and mostly prep used bikes to sell. I also tear down and build alot of motors. Just finished another 240 kit tonight and it rocks. I ride a modded banshee and I was impressed, for a blaster. If you want I can get a price for you. I think somewhere in the area of 1200 for the pipe/silencer, 35mm TMX carb, throttle, porting, head work, and the big bore. I can honesty say it will run with a STOCK 250. Bottom end is great and mid is good to, it does of course run out of breath on the top end, but does exactly what you are looking for. Don't quote that price it might be less or more, if you would like I can get you a quote and if you want send it up. Later.
