Default Banshee Top-End Rebuild time

On my last (2) trips the old Banshee has been difficult to start. Did a compression check yesterday and it wasn't good. 50Lbs left and 90 Lbs right. Pulled it down and found that the rings on the left cylinder were broke and bent right In front where it lines up with the exhaust port. The tops of both pistons look even in color (slight carbon). I'm guessing it was natural wear and tear deal. Thinking back I believe the last rebuild was 4 to 4-1/2 years ago. Possibly I waited a little too long to check it. This ATV is basicly stock. It only has, pipes reeds, reed spacers and the tors removed (bottom is is stock).

Anyway, I was thinking of sending the top end to Trinity or CT to get the cyliners bored, honed, ported and the head rechambered. Nothing crazy as I still want it to run on pump gas (premium). They will supply all the parts IE: Pistons, Rings, gaskets Etc. The parts cost from Trininty seems to be higher. Also, Trinity offers various levels of porting Stage #2 $350.00, Stage #3 $400.00 & Stage #4 $450.00. CT on the other hand only offers (1) level @ $450.00.

Questions:
1) Are both shops equal in their quality of work?
2) What level of porting at Trinity would you recogmend?
3) Any other thoughts/Advise???

Thanks....
Rude Dog

get the hone and bore job done locally and buy pistons from vitos. I recommend power pistons. The raise the compression and are made by weisco. The piston kits come with gaskets and everything else you need. Install the piston yourself to save some money then send your cylinders off the get ported. If you buy the pistons from trinity of ct they will probably over charge you for the parts and labor.
