Blasters are awesome.

I weigh 190 i'm 6' tall. I had no trouble with feeling cramped or underpowered. They are just a great 4-wheeler, peppy, quick, fun on trails, and wheelie like crazy!

Downsides, stock they are tippy, Bicycle easily, when going in a straight line they want to jump around a lot due to the short lenght, and hill climbing is more a challenge..short lenght again

I got rid of mine since i blew it up twice. And i didn't want to rebuild it. 2 Cracks in the sleeve, the head bolts were stripped(just found this out) and that's it. Plus i found a great deal on my 300EX.

The 300EX, it's a better 4-wheeler in my opinion. It's not very quick though, and it doesn't have the hit of the 2 stroke. It is more comfortable, double the lowend, more reliable(so i've heard), A better jumper, reverse!!!!(you'll miss it trust me)

downfalls to it, is that the motor is pokey. Well that's it actually...

I just figured i'd let you know what i thought on both. Since you are yamaha loyal it doesn't matter.

But one word of advice if novaman starts talking about how he can beat modded 350XR and a 400EX, he is full of it. Tell him to go back to his fantasy land where blasters are gods!

it depends on if you want to beat modified 300ex's, 350x's , and 400ex's. if so, the blaster is for you.

i would buy the blaster but dont buy in payments buy in full because they really charge a lot in intrest it's like 69$ a month and about 60 of it is intrest my friend is paying in payments and they dont like it at all. i would bowarrow the money from a bank and then pay it back and a nother think they bought the 3 year extended warenty and about a month ago it wouldent start so they took it to the dealer and they charged them 45.00 bucks to fix it and it was only 2 months old and it was the dealers falt because they put way to much oil in it the hole engine was full of oil.
hope this helps

yeah, interest is High. out the door my blaster would of been around 3300. with the financing alltogether we had to pay 3800.that means we paid 500 dollars in interest.

About $69 a month sounds like my payments. Everybody has a bad view of the blaster but don't let them sell it short, they are one of the best selling atv's on the market. Nothing compares to a two stroke. I've had two blasters for over two years now and never had to put much more than plugs and a oil change or just routine mantanence into them. DG94blaster you should never have sold your blaster, let me eat that 300ex up and s... it out in dust for you!

i'd never buy another blaster!

Tonight i helped the guy rebuild the blaster, because he is doing some work on the 300 for me. It's all free we just help each other out on stuff.

Well anyways, i asked if i could take it for a ride through a field. because i was thinking about trading the 300EX in on a 2001 blaster(i just want something new)

Well, i'm not impressed anymore. The ride is rough, the power isn't always there(i guess i've gotten stuck on the 4-stroke) Handles funny, and tippy. Almost flipped it! Well, i got a spare coil on my 300EX, and we raced around his little oval track, i was ripping him up in the corners, and whoops. Even with my sucky back shock that bottoms in the smallest of hits!

And lets not say he was a bad rider, he's raced MX for years!

It's just not like i remembered. I guess all those guys were right that told me once you ride something better you won't come back.

But i'm not saying the blaster isn't good, i still think they are a great atv. But, i guess i just couldn't go back.

I just bought a 2000 Blaster a few weeks ago , i paid 2599 for mine so a few of you guys got ripped from the sounds of it, its completely stock with the exception of Ohtsu Pro Wedge II tires, these have been great for creek or river riding, sand, water, and the local drag strip. My experience is that the blaster is a great bike, one of the guys i ride with has a '88 blaster,, still starts on the first kick! No problems except that my chain needs to be constantly adjusted every week or so, the Yamaha dealership had an extra link on it and it had to be taken out, other than that, its a great bike
