Raptor temperature light on
#1
I was riding at Gordons Well last weekend and on Sunday after maybe 25 minutes of bowl cruising, I had my temperature light go on. I stopped for a while then after about 5 minutes of riding again it went on. I stopped for a minute or two then rode another 15 minutes back to camp without the light ever going on again. There was no boiling over of the radiator and the quad appeared to function fine.
Here is a few questions I have: I cant remember the last time my fan went on during riding, does your fan turn on frequently? Whats the deal with the light going on and then staying off after a minutes rest? Third, do you guys get any radiator fluid coming out of the overflow tube on to the swingarm. I do but my friends Raptor doesnt. Any help would be appreciated.

First I'll be at Gordens the weekend of the 27th. Second the hottest (I mean the fan coming on more often) is dune riding. It seems to work the motor, I can drag flat or hills for along time and it never gets as hot as duning. I always try to remember and shut the motor off with the key still on. To let the fan run if it needs to. You should be able to see your fan come on if the light is on. I haven't had any fluid come out knock on wood. You might have a bad fan sensor or thermostat?

If the temp light comes on and the fan don't, take a look a head gasket. The sensor for the fan comes on about 200 degrees, the lite sensor come on at 250 degrees. I just changed two head gaskets on two different bikes. Coolant was filling the overflo bottle. When you run it and the light comes on and the fan don't, touch the bottom of the radiator to see if it is hot. If it is not as hot as the top, blown head gasket.
