What is best for me?

I am down to 2 Yami's and it is between a rappy and a yfz.. yes i know this has been on the asite a lot but i need new recent ideas.. I do extreamly fast trailriding. When reverce doesent matter whats it all going to come down to. Id theres no replacement for displacement true? I am plannoing on whatever I get racing in Gncc and doing supercross at a local track. I really like this yfz. and heard that if you smack a exhuast on that it runs like a mother. The first things that i will do it lower and put new shocks on whaver i get. Probly elka's with rezzies. I also really like to do wheelies and i know the rappy is master of wheelies. I'm sure a yfz goes up but does it have a good balance point. Cant wait to get her. witch eveone it will be.

well, i would personally get the raptor. great on trails, no comparison between the raptor and yfz on trail. on the track, raptor is pretty good also, yfz is ofcourse better. mods ive the raptor nast hp, yfz mods dont do that much. id go with the raptor anyday

Well my choice would be a banshee . I would look into the YZF man they haul a-- to. The rappy is tall, I had one and did care for the high center of gravity. Bought a banshee and love it. The YZF is pricey though. Good luck on your decision you really can't go wrong both good machines and remember this is only my oppinion.

The banshees arent great for either. You can manage fine, but theres definately better choices. Like rider said, the Raptor is fine on the track with some suspension, and the tippiniess started for me with the stock tires, I dont feel snot now with my Razrs. Im on the track every sunday and it hauls butt, I still have stock suspension. The Raptor is the ultimate trail machine, monster torque, reverse, everything. There both great for there purpose, the Raptor is the leader in the trails, and YFZ is leader on the track, just you pick whats more important, and what you will be doing more.

Sorry im not a 2 stroker. your op;pinion is totally bias. I just want to have a raptor that i can say what those yfz? i could kill one. mabay a aulminus body or sumthing get it lowered. Its all confusing. with a 686 youi tihnk i would beat any mildly modded yfz's or 450 r's in accel. I sat on a 450r today and i nearly cryed. I really like it. but nahh lol hondas not me. Diescarred your pullign me back to rappy

They are both great machines. The way I see it is that if you plan on more trial riding, the raptor is more suited for it. MX, you need the yfz. I have a rappy, but was considering a yfz. I got on one and it just felt way too small. The handlebars were too far down, the fenders were too close, and my legs were bent too much. I guess I am just too big for it.

I have the 01 raptor and i am now trading it in for the yfz. I feel that when racing I will have a lot better control and that is what matters to me. Yes the seat is hard but you will get used to that. The suspension on the thing is awesome.. I just test drove it today and I will be getting one as soon as possible. I will be doing both trail and dune riding along with some racing at the dunes! I am a smaller person so that raptor also feels a lot bigger to me!

Like I said, the egronamics on the YFZ are perfect for MX, but no where for trail riding. Suspension it too stiff, the thing is small and cramped, and beware on taking it on long trail rides, you will come out with a rash on your @$$. But on the track, its perfect. For trail riding, dont go anywhere but Raptor, most comftarble most broad four stroke powerband in the world. And the torque is unforgettable, I nearly pi$$ed in my pants when I felt that puppy fly up a hill for the first. 1BADRAPTORS mild 686 took selectors decked out YFZ a coupel of times, but they traded wins like crazy. Believe me, a hot 686 is a challenge to beat, I saw one spank the snot out of a cam mod YFZ up china wall at glamis, and I mean beat the shat out of it. The Raptor is never going to be replaced for me, love the feel, love the stance, love the torque. Dont think I haven't had a lot of seat time on the YFZ, hell, my cousin owns one, its a great bike, but great what its made for, and the Raptor is great at what it was designed for. Just like others said, you can manage a YFZ on trails, which is just like you can manage a Raptor on the track.
