Default King Shocks(So Cal Fab)

Does anyone on the board have the King Shocks from So Cal Fab for you raptor or yfz? How much better are they than the other competitors(elka, pep, custom axis) for the dunes? Do they really have the claimed 14 and 16 inches of travel? What are the pros and cons of the shocks.
Thanks.

I've seen a few Raptors with KING shocks...I mostly see them on trucks and rails though...I asked the guys with the raptors how they liked them and how they compared with anything else they tried. One of the guys said they felt as good or better than Elka's and the other guy said they felt half a step down from elka's. They were pretty pricey though, but that seem to be the only drawback...

Does So. Cal. Fab have a website??? I have been looking for about a year for a company that custom-made a desert suspension for the Raptor. I seen it before I started racing desert..and didn't pay much attention. Now I'm ready to dump some SERIOUS money into my quad. Someone out in the desert said it was So. Cal. Fab....sound familiar to anyone??? Thanx for the help....

Well if you are ready to dump some serious money into a suspension system, then KING racing shocks may be just the ticket. I priced out a set for a DS650, and when combined with the +2 a-arms and +2 swingarm that were needed to get the 16" of suspension travel that the shocks provided, it came to a total ready to race price of $4500. I thought that $4500 for suspension was a bit high, considering that a brand new DS650 Viper would have cost me just $5300 OTD.

I never have ridden a quad with KING racing shocks on it though. But it is interesting what someone said above about them being a half step down from Elka, because I would say that Ohlins is a full step above Elka, at least on the big hits, and on bigger sand whoops, etc. And the Ohlins ready to race set-up only cost 1/3 as much as the KING ready to race set-up. But that is comparing Ohlins for a V-Force to KING shocks for a DS, and did not include a-arms or a swingarm for the Ohlins set-up, so not a fair comparison by any means. Still, ... KING shocks are pricey.

Oh, and on those Fox air shocks that are going to be available any day now ...

Those may be a shock to consider, if they work as good as Elka, Axis, or Ohlins, because they will be very light (there are no springs). So if the Fox shocks are equal in quality to the others, and shave a total of 9 to 12 pounds off of your ATV compared to any other suspension system, ...

Something to think about anyway.

Here goes the number (661) 252-0455. There suspension is the s**t it's just bling bling all the way through. I took a drive out there with my chick and we were picking up some tie-rods from them. My chick notice this quad it was covered and she lifted up the cover. DAmmmmmmmm It was raptor it had everything you can think of. The suspension is the s**t the guy notice that my chick was jocking the bike he came over and started to lift the bike it was like a hydralic lift on the suspension. It might be pricy but it's damm worth it.
