shaving the head

I still have stock bore and run 92pump gas. I dont want to get into porting or boring yet because it just got rebuilt. Would It even be a noticable difference and how far can it be shaved safely without having to add a higher compression piston or high octane gas.

Shaving the head adds to compression and I think thats it. You would prolly notice a little power gain but nothing huge. Most motorcycle shops know how far they can shave the head, just call your local one up and ask.

If u shave it .020 thousanths off u will notice a difference in hp. Exactly it will be alot more powerful.
And thats the safe milling but ive even seen people w/ stock head go all the way to .040 thousandths off. Thats not cool tho

I hope i dont have a cam, then i might have some serious trouble =)
I got it rebuilt because it needed it. It went 4 years on stock piston and rings and i noticed it loosing ALOT of compression. I got it reabuilt at the dealer with all stock parts again.
I just dont want to have to tear it down and replace the piston again because its practually brand new.
wont it be alright with stock? its only 0.020over

im gettin my head milled by hollywood dirt and along with the pd#2 piston and gaskets, and he told me that shaving the head increases ur compression alot, compression=power, but do u like ur 12/41 gearing cuz thats what i plan on running

a stock blaster head is 22cc, you can safely decrease that size to 17cc on pump gas, the blaster has such a low stock compression ratio, I think it is around an 8-1 ratio, that milling 20ths off does litterally nothing for power, you can safely remove 40-45ths without getting into having to reshape the chamber, the suface lip on the blaster head is 100ths, taking off 40 ths will take you to about 17cc on the stock chamber, and will put you right around 9 1/2 to 10-1 compression ratio or about 145-150 psi which is safe to run on 93 pump fuel.
